Write a program that will read the packets arriving from the network interface of your computer, analyze the packets and detect packets arriving from a certain IP address, assigned a defined port range or some flags set. In other words, the program should simulate a packet filtering firewall. There should be an input screen where the user could define the rules. There should then be an output window which should display all the “blocked” packets. The rules should be placed in a table, and include the following fields; Source IP, source port, Destination IP, Destination Port, Flag(s). The packets shall be arriving at a certain speed and while you are analyzing one packet, it is possible that you missed certain packets. See if you can count the number of packets you missed.
