I require some existing code created by another coder incorporated into the game code for my game. This is for Visual Basic 6.
The code was done for me and is simple and already uses my form and objects. Only the pre-loading of the background image (using the existing masking for my game) needs to be done.
Basically what is required...is the picture of a character loaded into a picture box with a background already loaded in. This code is done and uses masking.
Then in the same picture box I need the animation drawn "over" this character and background. The code already works and is complete but I need help incorporating the two codes into one.
This should be quick and simple...but my knowledge of masking/animation and coding makes it difficult for me.

I am attaching the project form, code, and graphics you will need to use. Simply work from this.
Run the project to get an idea of how the animation works inside the picture box.
Only problem is that when you click to see the animations is that it simply loads a background picture and then the animation is displayed over this picture.
What I need is this animation drawn over the character, which in turn is drawn (with masking) over the initial background in the picture box.
View the "Masking" module to see how the background is drawn on to the picture box.
Public Sub GetBackGroundFirst first draws the background image, then loads the character's image. The Character image is stored in a UDT.
To start the project just work right from the frmbattlefield form as the project is now. Create a simple button that accesses GetBackGroundFirst to first load the character.
-Set GameCharacter(Checkany).gamename = "Explorer". Set checkany = 0.
Then when you click on picture_ouput(0) draw the light animation.
* This will draw the basic character and animation.
I would also like one other sample.
Create a 2nd button. Clicking on this button again runs the exact same animation in the exact same location as above. However, once complete it calls Public Sub ShowDamage. This is to show the damage label holder after a damage spell is cast. Want to see if that works ok. Maybe a small timer/delay just after spell is complete.
Ok, and that's it.
