I'm looking for an Magneto hostig expert to configure an optimized stack for a Magento site receiving a medium amount of traffic. I will supply you with a clean VPS of either Debian,Ubuntu or CentOS (your choice). The VPS will have 3 Gb memory and 2 cores and should run the following, unless you have a different opinion:
Apache
PHP-FPM
Percona MySQL
Magento Community latest
Your choice of cache tools and extensions. APC, Varnish etc. Note that if Varnish is used, I must be able to easily switch it off and the server should run well without it.
The reason for using Apache over nginx is that from what I read the performance gain of nginx is not significant compared to Apache with PHP-FPM and I'm lot more comfortable with Apache.
All config files should be optimized and all parameters documented. Also please explain which parameters should be tweaked if memory is increased.
Please also submit references to Magento sites where you have configured the hosting. I know a fair bit of this myself but am interested to have someone that is really good at this take me to the next level.
