I run my own mail server based on Postfix smtp server with authorization via MySQL database throught Dovecot SASL. With pleasure I'll configure the SMTP server to be safe and proof for SPAM relaying and abuse actions (like DOS). Of course IMAP/POP3 service at a price. I could guarantee that outcomming e-mails will accepting by all common mail servers (not mark as SPAM).
