Attention Bidders: Only bid if you or your company has direct experience in designing websites that are directory, market place, buyer guide, bid site. Please read the scoping document carefully. Please provide pricing that is as accurate as possible. Your quote will include all the debugging that is necessary to have a 100% fully operating site from end to end. I will allow a 10% variance in pricing from the original quote to the finished product. Portfolio references are required. OVERVIEW The website will be a web based industry specific directory & bid site for buyers who are facility managers, property managers and building managers and sellers who are suppliers, contractors and vendors for the Facility, Building and Property Management Industry in B.C., Canada. It’s a one-stop source for these buyers and sellers. I’d like to offer the project posting and bidding functionality of GURU and ELANCE and combine that with the directory and Request for Quote functionality of THOMASNET and GLOBAL SPEC to make one website that is both: 1. vertical search engine/directory site 2. post projects and bid site [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] The website will be designed for “automatic order entry” and “automatic data posting”. Hence a completely automatic and systematic site. Initially, there will be 5,000 to 10,000 sellers listed, increasing to 50,000 after five years. The seller listings will be a combination of paid and free listings. The website will show about 25 seller categories from the home page, and then drill down to about 250 sub categories of products and services. HOME PAGE The home page will have a simple clean design. The navigation will be tailored towards buyers, and assist them through the site to achieve what they want (look up a seller contact info, post a general project, invite select companies to bid on a RFQ, compare sellers, etc.) RESULTS PAGES The results pages is where the buyer is directed after the home page. These pages display the results of the search the buyer performed from the home page. The buyer can filter to city, province/state, postal code/zip code, ISO certification, reviews, etc. The buyer can send an email, request a quote from a specific seller, make online comparisons to other sellers, or post a project. BUYERS The buyers will have some special features. Buyers will have to register if they wish to request quotes and compare suppliers, post projects, etc. Limited searching and browsing will be offered without registration. Once registered, buyers will be able to login to their profile page where they can see their “dashboard”. They can see who they've asked RFQ's from, who's responded, what projects they’ve posted, they can set up automatic email notifications which would send them new product info from suppliers, they can sign up for industry type newsletters, etc. Within the profile of the buyer, they have the option to add 'friends' or 'co-workers' so that other potential buyers can view their profile and see what sellers that buyer has worked with or that have bid on previous projects. SELLERS The sellers will have some special features. Sellers would register and receive a profile page "dashboard" which enables them to view their metrics (ie. impressions, leads, hits, click thru’s), and RFQ’s, projects to bid on, emails, their profile, and billing info. Sellers would be able to see which buyers have been looking at their listings, and see the buyers contact information. This info would be part of the metrics available to the seller. As part of the registration and depending on their membership level, sellers can upload their product catalogues, product info, photo images, logos, pricing, content, contact info, new product announcements into a searchable database, in which buyers can filter and search for the sellers. MISC FEATURES & SERVICES Incorporate a shopping cart type of feature that enables a buyer to enter in their billing info if they want to proceed to purchase a service or product, directly from within the site from a seller. With no need to leave the site or proceed to send out RFQ’s. The shopping cart form will be sent to the seller to process…the info and items purchased will be updated in the buyers “dashboard” and also listed in the sellers “dashboard” as a reminder. Blog, classifieds, industry news, product announcements, etc. These are all supporting features of the site, but the main idea of the site is to match buyers with sellers. P.S.
