Hello! I have 2 home servers with the latest Proxmox VE, both servers have similar setup. Server 1: 1 SSD for Proxmox and 1 NVME SSD for the VM's Server 2: 1 SSD for Proxmox and 2 NVME SSD for the VM's I wanted to do some maintenance on them today but since Im not really an expert in this or in linux I messed up some things. Right now Server 1 has a freshly installed Proxmox and Server 2 still has its old Proxmox what I used before. What I wanted to do is basically to just move them from IP [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] to [login to view URL] and 192.168.1.6. Server 1 got messed up somehow and lost its /etc/pve directory so I had to reinstall that I wasnt even able to access the GUI anymore. Both servers were in a cluster and right now Server 1 still has its VM's on its SSD but they arent recognized since its a new install, so I need help to register them again somehow. Server 1 had the cluster created. For Server 2 what I would like to do is backup its VM's to an external USB HDD and then reinstall Proxmox on it and restore its VM's and the cluster like everything it was before. If you know a different approach or solution I will gladly will hear it for example if I dont even have to reinstall it. Most importantly, since its my home network I would like to do this remotely, so you would have to guide me through the process, I cant give access to the servers, I hope you understand that. Sir, I am Thomas, a 27 years old full time systems administrator at a French ISP and hosting company. I have extensive experience with virtualization clusters including Ganeti, Xen, Xenceter, Proxmox, VMware vSphere, XOA. If all you want to do is connects those disks, and use them as data (not system) disks, it should be OK. If on the other hand you want to use them as system or get back /etc/pve, there will be some thiking to do but I'm not sure it is possible. Can you please PM me so I give you a few questions to understand deeper this project ? I'm sure I have the skills to help you. I am really good at troubleshooting. Proxmox experience is polished.
