Experienced Unix sys admin needed for server mysqli update fix

I am trying to do an urgent website migration from one server to our dedicated centos 7 **this is a new upgraded website that works fine on our dev server, our live site is offline but worked perfectly on the dedicated server . I decided to update PHP 5.6 to 7.2.4 before I moved it and updated some other packages with yum. All seemed ok and the old live site still worked fine. now I have taken that offline and moved new site on the server and it seems that MYsqli is not connecting correctly from the ecommerce site. site error log complains of no mysqli connection. I have tested as much as I can and I need a quality unix admin to assist me. Current version of php is 7.2.4 Maria db 5.5.6 I cant find whats wrong. mariadb log shows no issues. httpd log is inconclusive. A manual script from the site root, runs and shows a connection to the database using mysqli and the correct credentials! I dont want to change version of php (aka downgrade back to 5.6) but may upgrade maria db to 10.x if this would help. The main issue is in phpmyadmin it shows this MysqlI Support enabled Client API library version mysqlnd 5.0.12-dev - 20150407 - $Id: 38fea24f2847fa7519001be390c98ae0acafe387 $ but in the logs for the yum update it shows it should be (138/192): [login to view URL] | 233 kB 00:00:00 this is an urgent fix so please only bid if you can do today. thanks
