Small bug Uploading files to MVC/C#. list doesn't refresh.

I'm building a custom blog site using MVC/C#. I have a working article editor page/viewer. When clicking a button in the editor JS loads a Modal view, populating with AJAX. This modal shows a list of images and the ability to upload new ones. It works, except I can't get it to relist the images after uploading or I have to refresh the whole page.
There is a bug happening that prevents the div from refreshing. here is a private youtube video showing what happens and the code in question. NOTE: there are no errors listed in the console of Chrome.

Very simple issue here, there's only a couple of potential issues. My main skills are in JS and HTML, as well as C# MVC so I can help you out here pretty quickly.
