Add View Modes to javascript plugin that opens a modal box with image

So I need help finishing up a plugin I'm writing for personal use.
I was trying to create a javascript plugin similar to the one that unheap uses for enlarging their images. Ex. go here. [login to view URL] then click on an image and look at the upper right hand corner of the image, you can change view modes. I would like to add this functionality to my existing javascript plugin or for someone to create an entirely new one that meets all the following requirements.
Here is what is done right now. [login to view URL]
Objective:
To create a very lightweight native javascript plugin with the following api.
MicroZoom(element, options)
- "element" = selector for <a> elements and use their href attribute as the image we want to open in a modal box.
- "options" = current it only has one option [login to view URL], value can be one of the following 'fit', 'width', or 'original'.
'fit' scales the image appropriately to the current viewport.
'width' scales the image to the entire width of the viewport allowing client to scroll down and up.
'original' displays original image in its full resolution.
if image is smaller than the calculated scale above, then it will show original image size center aligned to viewport.
Functional Requirements:
1. Link is clicked
2. Image is loaded into a Full Viewport Wrapper Background modal box.
3. On top right corner, a linked icon will be displayed to switch modes. (ex. [login to view URL]) Clicking on the image closes the modal box.
#3 is very important. So changing the view modes can only be done through the top right corner. Clicking on the image itself will close it out.
- In Best Fit Mode, Mode Changer on upper right will be Full Width icon.
- In full Width Mode, Mode Changer on upper right will be Full Size icon.
- In Full Size Mode, Mode Changer on upper right will be Best Fit icon.
