When I was 18, I I got 30,000 current college students to fill out a survey telling me about their colleges lives. I used the results to create Students' Guide to Colleges, which was published by Penguin Books. Students' Guide went on to become a series, published by Penguin Books in five annually updated editions, with tens of thousands of new students filling out my survey each year.
I went on to become the founder and CEO of Unigo.com. At Unigo, I got 750,000 current college students to contribute reviews to the site. I marketed the site to high school students and built an audience of more than 2 million registered high school students, and more than 14 million unique high school visitors each year. The site won awards from The Association of Educational Publishers, The Gates Foundation, Facebook and The Webby's, and was named a top 10 college website by US News & World Report and by Time Magazine.
