During the closing of the Firestone/Bridgestone Tire Plant, I was given the opportunity to be the person to help the Union (and Company) people to find employment. I did a lot of research, made up books every week of job openings I found, helped with resumes which included looking for skills they already had. Many had been Tire Builders for over 20 years and didn't realize that the skills they had learned could be utilized in other jobs the did not involve Tire Manufacture!
After the plant officially closed, I was hired at the local unemployment office to basically do the same thing. Not only to Firestone employees but other members of the community.
I love this kind of work and hope we can have a discussion about the job.
Thank you!
