I have taken two tax courses in Cornell, and am completing a certificate with concentration in Taxation through UCLA Extension. Courses I have taken there are Income Tax Planning, Retirement Plan & Other Employee Benefits, Federal Tax Practice Procedures, and International Taxation. Furthermore, through my initiation with tax, I made PowerPoints and videos for a bunch of fundamental but critical tax knowledge, and posted them on YouTube. Later, I found that the process of making those videos is a process of my knowledge getting fortified; moreover, those videos help people who want to get more practical and useful tax knowledge.
Also, I have taken Excel, Access, and am taking Visual Basis this semester. I use Excel a lot during my daily life for budgeting, planning and computation. For instance, during our tax courses, we have to fill tax returns by H&R. I would always like to use Excel to finish the tax computation before I input the data into H&R. The tax computation in excel could help to keep track of what I did in H&R. Also, it improved my accuracy and efficiency because in excel, a change of one number leads to changes to other numbers if formulae are used. Furthermore, from my past two internships, I used Excel and QuickBooks to record financial transactions and assisted my team with improvements on efficiency and consistency. These two data tool helped me to show off my performance with strong clarification and accuracy when I presented my work to teammates.
