Design requirement:
- Design high penetration of PV connected with grid ( at least 1 MW ).
- Connect D-STATCOM with the system.
- Test the VOLTAGE system during steady state condition and during three phase fault with D-STATCOM and without D-STATCOM.
- Test the harmonics in the system with STATCOM and without STATCOM.
STATCOM can improve the voltage during fault condition.
- STATCOM can help the system to reach the steady state faster.
( for example if the fault is happened from 0.2 to 0.5 second , the voltage system will be less than 1 pu lets say 0.4 pu for example and it will take time to back to steady state condition. By using STATCOM the voltage system will improve up to 0.4 pu and it will reach steady state faster.
- STATCOM can decrease the harmonics (THD) in PV system connected with grid.
simulation will evaluate the system performances with and without STATCOM using MATLAB/SIMULINK environment to further explain that STATCOM has an excellent scope for mitigating the power quality issues.
