We are a group of scientists who measure pH in a 24-well cultivation system, see attached image of well system. We measure pH in the bottom of each growth well where bacteria grow during our experiments. Our dream is to have a system set up where each growth well have its own pH probe which can deliver real-time. pH values every minute and be sent wireless to our computer. We have a wireless pH system for one probe but the 24-well format is the challenge. We are thinking that the probes could come in from the top lid of the 24-well plate (see image). If you feel this would be an interesting project we are more than happy to meet with you and talk about details. Feel free to contact us with any questions. We will agree on a price after meeting and you will be paid depending on how much work and material goes into the project.

Hi Sr, I was reading you proposal and found some solution, using an arduino and the Liquid PH0-14 sensors. My idea is to use an Arduino, connect all the sensors and send the data over a our own protocol over TCP/IP. It can be do with cables or wireless. Other option is over a web page where you can see the data in a real time with a computer or a cellphone. I'm electronic engineer with more than 15 years of experience designing circuits and programing. About the budget, we can discuss the different options and sensor prices (they are not cheap). Hi, interesting project. I am an electronics engineer that has worked in the consumer field for 14 years. I've worked in many areas, including wireless. Not sure if you are open to suggestions, but it looks like the wells are co-located together. So, it would make sense to me to actually connect all the PH sensor electronics with wires on a serial bus like I2C/SPI and then send all the data over one radio. But I don't know what your constraints, maybe your PH sensor electronics is already designed, so maybe you can explain better when we meet. In addition, there are other wired interfaces for long distances that may be easy easier to implement, such as RS-485/RS-422. But if wireless is a hard requirement then never-mind that suggestion. Hi, I am a mechanical design engineer by trade, I like to keep busy with Arduino projects as a hobby, it is an added bonus if I get paid to do it! My proposal is as follows: 1x Arduino Uno with wifi module - This will be the master unit 3x Arduino Unos - These are slave units to the above 6x Atlas Scientific tentacle shields - Two of these would mount to each Arduino slave 24x Atlas Scientific pH probes - Four probes connected to each tentacle shield 1x 3D printed well lid to fit the PH probes to I have proposed the above method as it minimises risk by using existing components with some existing code. The pH sensors use UART communication and I'm not familiar with connecting multiple components with this method, hence using the shields. The down side to the proposal is the cost in bought out parts. If you aren't comfortable with the price, I could create a test rig at first for 8 wells as proof of concept, this would significantly lower the cost and could easily be scaled up to 24 wells at a later date.
