Experienced IT Support Engineer, Fife area or remote

Company: Scotland based IT company, 15 years of experience supporting SME’s in Scotland and Britain with IT infrastructure requirements, focusing on Business Application through Microsoft Dynamics and Office 365. We offer a wide range services to our customers, from Managed IT support, IT solutions, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Solutions, Virtual Desktop, Mobile Office, Remote Monitoring and Management, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft Dynamics 365. Despite the current global climate, our team is excited to be increasing in size and extend its footprint. Thus, we are looking for you, our IT Support Engineer, representing us to other potential clients, in the UK. You will have a strong knowledge of Windows Server and Exchange as well as Office 365 and Cloud technologies. Strong knowledge of Networking and Security is essential covering switches, routers, firewalls, DHCP, and DNS. Strong communication and a customer-centric focus is paramount. What will you be doing most days? Day to day delivery of IT support services to our client base, up to a senior level Implementing IT projects including liaising with clients and colleagues Troubleshooting IT problems by telephone, remote access, and on-site visits in Dunfermline and throughout Central Belt of Scotland, so owning your own vehicle is essential. If you are not Scotland based, please mention in your cover letter Focusing on simple solutions to complicated technical problems Designing on-premises and cloud IT solutions for clients Documenting IT systems and taking care of accurate timekeeping. Examples include troubleshooting and fixing: Network issues Connectivity to Terminal Server Problems with emails on Exchange Server Backup failures Speed issues Security breaches etc. Your desired skills: Personal Attributes ● Well-organised, thorough, and able to plan and deliver complex projects to deadlines. ● Enjoy helping people and working in a team, learning quickly, and sharing knowledge. ● Attention to detail and accuracy. ● Ability to work on own initiative. ● Able to stay calm under stress and client pressure. ● Strong client facing skills and ideally have worked for an MSP. ● Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for the local option. Technical skills: ● Microsoft Desktop Windows 7/10 ● Office 365 and Azure ● All versions of Windows Server and Exchange ● Networking - DHCP, DNS, routers, switches ● IT security & Data Backup Technologies Work, Compensation & Benefits This is a part-time position and in principle you would be expected to work around 30 hours a week.
