This project is for a volume utility for Windows VISTA.
If you run an audio player - any audio player - under Vista, the volume control panel (also known as the Mixer) will show a volume slider for that player - the software currently playing the sound. There may be others, but they don't matter for this project.
The user enters a number (percent) from one to 100, and the application automatically sets the volume level - but only for the specified executable.
The user enters a number in a field, and presses <ENTER> (or clicks a button) The volume is adjusted to the level they put in.
If the user enters 35%, then the level for the audio player will be set to 35%.
In the application, there will be one "STRING". The name of the audio player (executable file) that will appear in the other slider we'll be working with. In the picture (a file attached to this listing), the name of the player is "[login to view URL]"
IMPORTANT:
The "STRING" (containing the name of the executable) will be editable using RESHACKER - the most useful programming ever invented. Get it here: [login to view URL]
RESHACKER will be used to change the name of the executable to be controlled by the application. There may be more than one audio player used for this, so the name of the executable must be in the application where it can be changed. To do this the exe you create must not be compressed, and it must follow a standard resource layout. RESHACKER is a VERY useful tool. If you're a programmer, you will love this thing. It's freeware, too.
It needs to have an about button, which, when pressed, says "Copyright, 2007, (name)
The completed job includes your providing the source files (of course).
Be prepared to communicate with me, and please know that a screenshot is not a demo :-P And, of course, you need to submit the source files when the project is complete.
I have posted jobs in the past that got bids in the thousands of dollars, but were completed for just a few bucks. Please be competitive in your bidding. Don't worry if you don't have any feedback - your comments showing your grasp of the job will be more important than any
other concern.
There could be adaptations of this utility for you to work on after this, for additional payment.
