This project is to create a utility that will check to see if a small html file in a specified local directory is the same size as another file with the same name at a specified URL. If they are different, the user gets a message box asking the user if they want to open their browser to a specified URl or 'cancel'. If the two files are the same size, the utility does nothing. If there is no internet connection, the utility does nothing. If the local file does not exist, the app downloads the online file, and then does nothing. No matter what the choice, the app downloads the online version of the file, overwriting the local version of the same file. This provides a point-of-reference for the next time the utility is run. A different file size for the online verison of the html file triggers a message to the user. It must have four "strings" 1) The path to the local file 2) The URL of the online file 3) The URL that opens in the browser 4) The text of the message displayed to the user (which appears in an 'OK or Cancel" format). OK takes them to the URL that opens in the browser. This information is stored in an INI file. The INI file must follow the standard format local_file_path= url_of_online file= url_that_opens_in_broswer= text_of_message_to_user= I don't care what programming language you use ([login to view URL], please - I don't want anyone to have to install the framework files for this), but try to make it as small as reasonable possible.
