Writers for Health and Medical Websites

Seeking writers for a medical website. Candidates that have clearly not read this listing will not be considered/if interested please give a thoughtful response! Our client focuses on 2 specific areas: 1. vein medicine and venous disease 2. Pain Medicine. This is an ongoing project, and we are looking for someone who can commit to at least 1 article per week, ideally 2-3. Articles are approximately 1000 words long, informative but written in a lively and engaging fashion (similar to a popular science magazine). Our target demographic is American men and (predominantly) women ages 30-70. The ideal person will : A. have some experience in scientific or medical writing and be able to clearly explain medical concepts. We have doctors who can help train the writers initially, our current writers achieved competency in the medical topics over the course of writing several pieces. B. The ideal person will have experience in SEO, including: optimizing a blog post for a single keyword/search query, analyzing competitor websites to make sure appropriate content is included, on-page SEO, writing metatags and metadescriptions. We provide a detailed template for SEO purposes. BUT MOST OF ALL, we are looking for enthusiastic, lively writers who are native english speakers (or seem as though they are). We are not adamantly opposed to hiring foreign writers, but did find writing fluidity can be an issue sometimes. We are more than happy to train and help with both A and B if you are an engaging writer! Pay: We pay our current team $20+ a post. Our writers tell me that the first few posts took 2-3 hours to write (including turnaround since we reviewed and edited the first 6 or so), but several months in they are able to write a post in 30 minutes flat since they are more familiar with the structure and content. Pay is negotiable, but we would prefer to pay a reasonable amount for an initial trial post with the understanding that this will turn into a longitudinal position of the writer does a good job.
