Slow your roll and go with the flow 2) Expect the Unexpected: Sometimes tours start late or you might have to go to a different train station due to a delay. Keep an open mind when traveling abroad 3) Remember Where You Are: You're not at home so don't expect everything to be the same. Try new foods, new modes of travel, new clothes, learn the language. Rejoice in the differences instead of rigidly trying to make everything conform to your point of view. 4) Don't be THAT guy : avoid being the obnoxious american who expects everyone to speak english and drop everything to help you. A genuine smile and common courtesy go a long way 5) You get what you give: open yourself to new experiences that will enhance your life and grow your perspective The above is my "brain dump".
