Project is to create a greenhouse controller, which monitors - Temperature/Humidity and Moisture.
The Arduino Currently has attached:
# LCD display (16x4).
# DHT thermometer/humidty sensor.
# Moisture sensor.
# Real time clock.
# Micro SD card.
# 4 Relays
# 5 Switches - Up, Down, Left, Right and Enter.
A creation of a Basic Menu system to save settings to the device through either EEPROM or SDCARD. Refer to Image.
4 Main options which are
#Temperature Settings, of which the user can set upper or lower limits, of which each can be turned on or off, if "on" to the next menu, if "off" to go back to the main menu - the "On" menu will have a temperature that can be set and then an option to select an output 1-4.
#Same for the Humidity
#Same for Moisture.
Finally a Timer settings of which 10 timers can be set, with an on or off setting, if on to allow the user to set the time of which an output will happen. With the RTC constantly checking the time and if any set time is reached to output.
All outputs with the enablement of setting output seconds before the output is turned off.

I have worked on several Arduino/Raspberry pi projects. This code should be designed carefully to fit in to the program memory. There are lot of strings on the code and so the memory could be the constraint here. Let me know which arduino you are using (uno or mega or some other variant) to get the memory spec. Similarly the EEPROM layout and management should be done carefully so that read/save could become easy to do.

As I can see here there's nothing much to do with hardware. Most of the project will be coding and developing a proper algorithm.
