Create an application that can be run locally on a Windows XP/Vista workstation. The application must import an excel sheet with multiple columns. The following columns names are important to the application:
a. ‘Tracking’ ??" This is the tracking number assigned to the shipment
b. ‘Zip code’ ??" This is the origin zip code of the delivery
c. ‘Zone’ ??" This is the zone code assigned by FedEx
The program will have an entry for us to add/enter in (and be able to modify) a zone and days (this is important for the compute of days late/on-time delivery).
Example:
Zone 1 = 5 Days
Zone 2 = 4 Days
Zone 3 = 3 Days
Zone 4 = 2 Days
Zone 5 = 1 Days
Zone 6 = 1 Days
The program will look up each tracking number and deliver the following output in the same or a new excel sheet
OUTPUT:
a. Tracking Number
b. Origin Zip code
c. Ship To Zone
d. Pickup Date (may be different than ship date)
e. Delivered Date
f. Tracking number as a link to tracking info
g. Based on Origin Zip Code and Ship To Zone, compute and provide the number of days late - if not late populate field with 'Delivered On-Time' in column. Must account for weekends (meaning weekends are not included as days in the computation).
· ALL DATES MUST BE NUMERIC EXCEL DATE FORMAT INPUT.
· APPLICATION SHOULD NOT HANG ON ANY FIELD THAT IS NOT VALID (I.e. Bad tracking number etc).
Windows XP
MS Excel
Application must be able to import Excel 2003/2007 excel files and read the header column to import the correct data into the application. Then Export must be an excel sheet and the data must be the actual data and not as any unreadable data (example of unreadable data: 4.6791002E+11)
