An IBM AIX based Administrator is required to provide technical Support skills on pSeries platforms. This will involve implementation and support of IBM hardware and customer systems. Applicants must have in depth experience of 1st and 2nd line support for an AIX environment (AIX 4.3.3, 5.x, 6.1 and 7.1). The applicant will have strong customer facing skills, be able to work usually as part of a team, sometimes on their own initiative and often under pressure where requirements dictate. The applicant will have experience of writing Korn Shell Scripts, software installation using NIM, and a thorough knowledge of TSM version 6.1+
The work involves supporting a wide range of applications on IBM architecture in a 24/7 environment – therefore some out of hours work may be required as will a support rota which will require the candidate to be on call for one week out of three.
