I wish to automate the dispatch of orders we received from eBay. So are looking for a solution based on eBay API, open-source automation tools, macros or another solution. There are 3 main requirements to this. PLEASE ADVISE WITH YOUR BID THE SOLUTION YOU WILL USE.
Stage 1 - Choosing un-dispatched orders and downloading them on eBay
This involves going in a web-browser to eBay and chosing checkboxes next to the orders on the screen. See the attached screenshot. Some orders have a note on them, like the first order on the attached screenshot. These orders should not be selected as they are already booked, or require manual booking. Once the orders are selected, there is a button on eBay to download them to an excel/CSV file. The CSV file contents are like attached. Or you may choose to open each order in a new tab in web browser, where the order details will be displayed.
Stage 2 - Booking the jobs on the courier systems and updating order with tracking number
We use 3 postal services for parcel dispatch, depending on the product. These are Citylink, Tuffnells or Royal Mail. The first two couriers have their own websites where the orders need to be added. So the details from the spreadsheet downloaded in step 1 (or webpage opened in step 1) need to be entered on the courier form. The courier system will generate a tracking number on booking the job. This tracking number should be extracted and stored in the Excel spreadsheet AND on ebay order details page for each order. For Royal Mail, we just need to put the addresses in a Wordpad file (RTF) with one address on each page. Finally a comment should be added on eBay for all orders that have been booked.
Stage 3 - Marking orders as dispatched and sending out dispatch emails and eBay messages with tracking information
This job should be possible to trigger separately to Stage 1 and Stage 2. Once our couriers collect the goods, we will kick off this job. It marks the orders as dispatched on eBay. And it will use the tracking information obtained in Stage 2 and send the customers an email AND eBay message containing a tracking link for their parcel. We will provide contents of this email/eBay message.
