Candidate should be responsible for prospecting for and securing ad sales for publications, including magazines, and website. The job involves identifying and selling to
potential advertisers based on the audience profile of the magazine, servicing existing clients and working with their agencies to secure advertising, conceptualizing new features or advertising properties and identifying new opportunities to increase advertising revenues. The candidate will need to have the ability and maturity to engage
with senior level executives. The applicants should have a successful sales track record and an ability to spearhead sales by actively engaging clients and cracking tough accounts. A good understanding of B2B sales process along with an ability to map the market at all levels are essential.
The ideal candidates should have excellent communication skills (written oral). They should be highly motivated and self-driven go-getters with a "Always Be Closing' attitude. They should have the ability to sell honestly and the strength to sell without discounts and editorial support. They should be able to think creatively and map the market at all levels.
Routine tasks are likely include:
Persuading clients to buy advertising space or time
Finding out who controls the advertising budget in target organizations and contacting them
Explaining the benefits of your medium, using statistics on readership or viewing figures
Offering a price and negotiating around it and closing the deal and recording the details.
A good telephone manner with excellent communication skills.
The ability to build relationships with customers, can work under pressure and be good with numbers
