I need to enhance an existing medical DICOM reader which is embedded in our report generator.

DICOM IMAGE READER

(Video Window)

1.) With the current viewer I manually set the “Drive?? to be used by opening “Tools?? “Options?? then scrolling to bottom of page and setting the “Default DICOM Image Folder??

I would like to be able to change the destination drive from the “Video Window?? or even have the program “search?? for the DICOM or AVI files if possible.

It would be nice if I could choose to read other files such as AVI, JPEG or other video files. It will be important for those clips to loop as they do with the existing DICOM file reader.

When the program accesses files it should list “Patient Name?? “Patient ID?? “Date?? “Image Type??

Would like to be able to make at least distance, area and volume measurements on the images. To do this will need to be able to control the clips and freeze for measuring.

Control of Contrast/Brightness of images, size and any other control of the image you can give me.

Ability to make annotations on image then save to original file.

Ability to convert DICOM files to AVI or other media files, save as a file and ability to burn to a CD, save to flash drive or hard drive. Would like option to burn video reader with images if I choose to, that way whoever I send the CD or other media to will be able to look at images.

Indicate if images are single, clip, DICOM, AVI, etc.

Need to be able to read multi frame DICOM cine clips that are utilized for stress echocardiography.

The program is written in Delphi and if there is a better way to do it I am open to suggestions. There a re a couple of sites that have free DICOM readers and might be of help to you in your proposal.
