Would like to run my College Bowl Football Pool in a newly created website (I have the domain name already)
1st requirement is access into the pool is limited to people who I invite only not for the public (or give a password to)
How the pool works:
There are 28 Bowl Games this year, every player assigns a confidence rating from 1-28 on each game on the team they think is going to win the game. If you pick the game correctly you get the points assigned to it, if you miss the game you get 0. Key is you can only use a number once so I would assign 28 to the team I felt most confident in winning and 1 to the team I was most unsure about.
I would want the teams to be easy to add as well as the dates and times and tv info (ESPN or ABC) I would also need to have a deadline input that I could change each year. I intend to use this for years to come so I need it somewhat flexible, maybe next year there will be 27 bowl games for example. Once the date and time of the dealine is reached new players would be blocked from signing up. I would like all picks to be viewable once someone has submitted there picks and only then. Would need to tabulate all the points and rank the leader board in order (descending)
There are a couple more small quirks but this should give everyone the general idea. If this works well I can see adding other pools to this site down the road, may someday add e-comerce to it as well. I presently do this on a big excel spreadsheet, would love to be able to gather picks via the internet and show results as they occur as well. First Bowl game is in a month so I would need a quick turn around. I would enter all the games and teams, dates, times, tv info myself.
