I have an Access 2000 database with a few reports that gather information through queries in the database. The reports are designed to be a 'form letter' that will print a collection of personalized letters at one time to many people with details of each record in the letter (like First and Last Name, an Expiration Date and Renewal Date) with a standardized body to the letter.
I want to know how I can produce multiple letters like this from the same database queries but have the letter designed in a Word Document linking the necessary fields of the records to the Word Document.
The current database has a button to "Print Letters" that calls the print method of the current report and sends them to the printer. The number of letters to be printed could be 1 or many. I want to be able to click a button on the form window of the database and have this same action take place but instead of printing the report for each record in the query, I want to print the Word Document for each record in the query.
I will require a simple database with just a few sample records of First Name, Last Name and two dates. A Word Document that has a simple message that is standardized with the exception of a First Name/Last Name field and the two Date fields in the body of the letter somewhere. The design of the letter is not important, just that you can link a query from the database to the document, and print the document with the query information for as many records as are in the query. Do this with the use of a button on a form in the database.
## Deliverables
Sample Database with a few records A query in the database that pulls those records A form in the database as described above A Word Document as described above
