AMG has two software products that need 'license files' to be generated and sent to users. One is KAB. This just requires the user and computer to be authenticated/approved, have data recorded, run a simple program to generate code and then have it mailed to them. The other software is ONE (and it's variants) and this software is as above BUT also has the option to add additional libraries and the license file is generated for that specific combination of libraries. There needs to be some 'policing' of the users and their computers. So we OK the user first by confirming a valid serial number (possibly automatically because we know them and can OK it in advance so they can get their license file instantly or manually if it 'makes sense'). Then the user can get that license file for that computer again any time they like. If they add/change computers this has to be approved/explained. With ONE additional libraries can be added automatically or manually to the same computer but again chahges in computer ID etc. need discussion. Old computers can be retired, etc. and new ones allowed, etc. Basically the usual authorisation system obviously with our special little program that actually makes it work and the added complication of ONE and it's library variations. Ideally the whole thing can integrate with the shopping database from our site too so it also integrates perfectly although if it has to be 'standalone' that wouldn't be a dealbreaker. I think this project would be ideal/easy for anyone who's done this sort of project before as I can imagine it's pretty easy to tweak any system like this to suit us.
