Create Windows Installation program for COM application

We have a client/server based system built with Visual Basic 6 COM dll's and .exe's. The system is segmented into 3 distinct but interdependent programs. 1. The server application. The Server application is programmed as a COM dll and runs as a service on Windows 2000 and/or Windows 2003. 2. The administration application. This program communicates with the Server application (#1 above) and provides a user interface to monitor and configure the characteristics of the server application. This application may or may not be run on the same physical machine as the server app above. This application must run on Windows 2000 (all editions) and Windows 2003. 3. The client installation. This program runs in the windows taskbar and sends monitoring information from the client PC to the server application (#1 above). This client installation must run on Windows XP (all editions), Windows 2000 (all editions) and Windows 2003. This application currently has an installation program which does work, however it is not intuitive or user-friendly. We will supply you with all necessary binaries and the current installation program. It is up to the successful bidder on this project to spend some time learning how the application currently runs so that they can correctly build a new installation program. This system is full of COM dll's which must be properly registered for the app to work. Make sure you understand COM before bidding on this and are willing to throughly test the install after completion to ensure it's accuracy. Our staff is swamped right now so we need a self-starter who doesn't need much hand-holding. Special consideration given to coders who provide references to previous work. ## Deliverables Mandatory Features: 1. A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. MSI executable form as well as complete source code of all work done and appropriate documentation. 2. Installation must be intuitive and user-friendly. 3. There must be one user interface allowing the user to install any of the 3 above applications (server, admin, client). The server and admin applications can be installed on the same machine, but the client cannot be installed on the same machine as server or admin application. Logic must be in place to enforce these rules. 4. Logic must be in place to enforce the platform requirements listed in the description above. 5. The installation must be one-click (choose client, server and or admin installs) with no further user intervention. 6. A bonus will be paid to any coder who can push a server and or admin install out to a remote machine. 7. Core installation technology must be .NET compatible. Visual Studio .NET installation or Nullsoft Scriptable Install System (<[login to view URL]>) are acceptable technologies. Any other technologies must be approved by us prior to bid acceptance. Our major determining factor is making sure there are no licensing fees and our inhouse staff can properly maintain. 8. All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. ## Platform 1.
