1- Create a finite element model for one of the fin geometry shown in figure.
Try to use the parametric modeling feature in ANSYS so that it will be easy
to change the model for different dimensions L and t. Assume a constant
temperature on the inner surface of the base surface and solve the steady
state heat transfer problem and find the heat transferred with and without the
fin. Change dimensions, repeat above calculations and plot the heat transfer
improvement ratio
a) Assume appropriate numerical values for geometry, outer temperature, material properties and boundary
conditions and solve the problem using Ansys or Matlab with appropriate two-dimensional solid
elements. Utilize symmetry to minimize the model size.
b) Calculate the heat flux at the wall (x=0) analytically and using Ansys or Matlab.
c) Compare solutions and comment.

My thesis work is on forming of plates due to moving heat source. I am confident to finish this work on time because for the last 2.5 years I was working on a similar kind of project even though I am unable to see the said figure yet.
