Need a web based software/application where we can feed/upload roster of various companies employees and then plan their pickup & drop by our cabs(cars). The cars will be assigned as per the reporting time and pickup area (this should be done manually within the application). Further we should have an option to do tracking of these cars (by puting the start time and destination time of the car which we will get on our own by gps tracking). A list of engaged cars and empty cars should also be available while allotment of vehciles for current or future assignments. Could be made in Java or Oracle or VB

I have already developed exactly this kind of system and it is web enabled. I have developed a taxi Booking and Dispatch system and handle both the scheduling and booking and the dispatch. I have more than 20 years experiend in database and web applications. My system in open source and can be easily adapted to meet your specific needs.

I would go for a more simple design with jsp/tomcat/mysql. Multi tier capability is not needed for this task. I also did mostly report specialist roles, and has good skills in sql based reporting, that can be needed here.
