I cannot stress enough that neither magento or opencart are fit for this job. If you have a good server (dual 4 core CPU 256GB RAM as a minimum) Magento will be crippled at around 40k products and Opencart at around 70-80k with very low traffic. Adding a multiseller extension on top of them will only make things worse. You say: "Must have all the same features as dhgate". You will have to make a list of what these are and be sensible as $1500 will not take you that far. There are existing solutions which are not so well known or so often updated but can scale up a lot more than opencart and Magento. Message center and live chat can be done...Ideally you want these on a separate server.
