Build a Website

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Create a home page for an online newspaper company, [login to view URL], as a web developer. PROJECT SCHEDULE: 11:59 PM on July 19 (Saturday) - Research and Design Research on at least five small online newspaper company web sites and summarize features that you would like to implement in two-page report. Based on your research and idea, create wireframe (review chapters related to wireframe design in textbook) using any tool (PPT, Visio, and any other tool). Put your design in one page Word document. Zip in a file and upload it to BB. 11:59 PM on July 22 (Tuesday) - Home Page Design Complete the home page design based on your wireframe. Create your own theme, CSS/HTML template, images to create one page (Home Page) in a zip file. Instructor will unzip the file and click “[login to view URL]” to view the home page. You may use any images/theme/template freely available in Internet but you may need to modify it matching to project description. 11:59 PM on July 29 (Tuesday) Instructor will announce the winner of “best design” and the winner’s CSS template, supporting Materials (graphics), etc. will be sent to all students in the class on July 23 (the winner will get extra 10% point in project grade). All students will use this template for further development of the pages (About US, Contact us, etc). 11:59 PM on Aug 5 (Tuesday) - Web promotion Add web promotion to the site using JavaScrpt, jQuery, and other tools. Details will be announced and uploaded to BB before July 29 and you will complete the final site by Aug. 5.
