Cinematic-Style Flash Animation Banner Ad for Mobile Awards

We are a small startup company looking for a very sophisticated, easy on the eyes, but graphically sharp flash banner ad-set (3 sizes) for brand awareness. The banner ads are introducing a new Awards Academy for the mobile touchscreen industry. We consider this a simple project. Bids should be at or under $300.

The concept and layout of the ad has already been determined and it has a rough storyboard. For those qualified candidates whose portfolios demonstrate extremely high quality work showing **illustration** in flash banners, we have a video style-clip to show you which provides a "look and feel" sample.

Specific Skill Requirements:

1) Requires Illustration Design and Motion Graphics with Typography

2) Three customized sizes for the Ad: 300x250, 728x90, and 160x60

3) Ad should contain stark blacks and mostly solid color shapes, silhouetted, with rapid zooms from wide to extreme close-ups, and with objects that rapidly move across pushing typography across the screen in its place.

4) A demonstrated ability to illustrate and draw "cinematically"-- that is, as follows:

a. Illustrate/draw people and objects in silhouette, IN MOTION -- not frozen objects that move across the screen in static form

b. Ability to draw objects moving in perspective, zooming from close-and-big in foreground filling the screen, then zooming the object out into the background rapidly smaller, changing its shape in perspective based on its new position on screen, all in smooth camera-like motions.

5) We specifically DO NOT want "assemblage" simulated animation, where clip art objects are just moved around.

6) We DO want a knowledge of clean contemporary typographic fonts, which will be pushed on and off screen by the moving objects.

We uploaded a :34 second video that suggests the BLACK+WHITE SILHOUETTE + COLOR BACKGROUNDS ILLUSTRATION ANIMATION style-feel we are seeking in the look & feel of this banner ad, with shapes pushing typography left, right, up or down off the screen to refresh the screen space for the 2nd or 3rd part of the ad message.

NOTE #1 ... OUR AD IS NOWHERE NEAR THIS COMPLEX, NOT EVEN CLOSE!
We are not expecting anything matching this exact style, nor or we expecting anywhere NEAR this complexity! ... as this is a heavily-edited excerpt from the title sequence to a major motion picture, which was extremely heavily budgeted and took a long time to envision and create. ... We cannot possibly "message" anything in a banner ad with this much activity. We know, and we aren't.

NOTE #2 ...We also WILL NOT HAVE SOUND in our ad at all. We considered uploading this file silent (*the music greatly influences the impact of the clip, for sure), but we decided to present it with the edited music track from the title sequence because the whole purpose of showing you this clip in the first place is to: creatively stimulate you, and provide you the FLOW-FEELING we are going after, which uses * a rapid zoom effect that is very very smooth, * typography pushed by objects in transition

NOTE #3 ... This is why we have said "ILLUSTRATION". You need to be able to draw objects in perspective.

** IMPT! And this is the part we are looking for in PORTFOLIO SAMPLES: ILLUSTRATED objects and people. We don't want photo-realism, which is also why we chose this clip, but it's something quite stronger than a cartoon. (If you are an illustrator, you know the difference :) We look forward to seeing your work that shows illustration. While seeing your other work is impressive, at the end of it all, if you can't illustrate, you cannot do what is required of this job. And we MUST SEE that you can illustrate. So if your samples don't show it, then create a sample that DOES show it. Otherwise we cannot consider you. Thank you.

It was pointed out by someone in a message to [KK] (who posted the ad for me), that “We consider this project simple” may seem simple to us, but from our descriptions it isn’t so simple. My response is: That may be so, but the ACTUAL storyboards are simple -- it’s just that to describe the style we want has required a lot of description. -- RR
