I"m an electronic engineer currently working in an R&D organization. I have got experience in circuit designing, simulation using different softwares and PCB designing.
According to my understanding, you need a circuit which will emulate a lever switch and it has to switch the led ON and OFF depending on the position of lever switch but this has to be performed by touching two event wires in the circuit(by short circuiting them). And you mentioned to connect a 9V battery to power up LED. I have designed and simulated a circuit which contains the following components :
9V battery(V1), LED(D1), series resistor for LED(R1), actual load resistance(R2) and two event wires named "Event wire 1" and "Event wire 2".
If these two event wires touch each other or are short circuited, LED becomes ON which indicates that the lever switch is in normally closed position and when these two wires are disconnected, the LED goes off which indicates that the lever switch has been pressed(normally open position).
I can send you simulation as well or a schematic in PDF. Furthermore I can also design a PCB for this circuit if you need. I am also interested to do next part of your project. Kindly let me know that is this you actually require which i explained above ?
Looking forward to you for further elaboration and discussion on this project and to award me this project. Best of luck !
Thanks.
