I have about 11 hours and 15 minutes of audio interviews in WMA format that I need transcribed into a Microsoft Word .doc file. The quality is loud and clear on 98 percent of the tracks. There are two speakers on most tracks -- interviewer and interviewee -- all are face-to-face. The interviewees in all cases are American, English speaking men in there 80s. Accuracy is paramount. Foreign words, technical words and uncommon names unknown to the transcriber must be marked with a timecoded. These audio tracks are part of a large WWII oral history project -- this is but the first round. There is almost 30 more hours ready to go if this first 11 is done well, fast and cheap. This project is a repost. It was bid and award in December and the contractor never came through. This happened again this month The work MUST be done by June 5. No extensions.

My typical charge is $20 per audio hour, but the system would not let me enter a bid lower than $250. The actual cost would be $225. For 11 hours of audio I estimate about two full time days of work, with a third day for clean up/proofreading to ensure accuracy. I type over 90 wpm with 100% guaranteed accuracy, so quality is not an issue. I have a resume available upon request.
