Demurage Charges

I am an arbitrator, mediator and managing partner of a Legal/Business consulting firm, with over 25 years experience in the legal field. I am also an arbitrator associated with the Miami Maritime Arbitration Council and a specialist in Admiralty/Maritime law of which matters involving demurrage are included. I am located in Florida, USA. There are a number of documents that must be reviewed before I can provide you with any assistance. Some, but not all, of the documents are: (1) copy of the commercial invoice covering the cargo, (2) copy of the ocean bill of lading, (3) copies of import documents from the country of import, and (4) copy of the invoice covering the demurrage charges. I presume the cargo was insured and a copy of the applicable insurance coverage (Declaration Page) would be helpful. Challenging the demurrage charges may very well be subject to arbitration as opposed to litigation. In order to properly evaluate your case I would need, at a minimum, items 1,2,3 & 4 above. After review of those documents, I would be in a better position to provide my initial recommendation and assistance. If selected, I require a milestone (retainer) of USD75.00 prior to submitting my initial recommendation.
