Hi,
I have a PhD in pure mathematics and am familiar with several interesting topics that might be covered in school, but aren't currently:
- group theory
- elementary number theory
- knot theory
- and many more
Or is the topic for the project already decided on? If yes, what is it?
I have tutored undergraduate students for several years and like explaining things in a way that allows the students to start from elementary concepts and develop them into complex ideas.
Obviously there is already quite a lot of material out there on the internet. So what exactly is expected in this project? Can one use already existing curricula as starting points or is it necessary to create everything from scratch?
Is this 15 hours of traditional teaching, or 15 hours of interactive activities?
What resources are available to the teacher? I like to programm small Javascript presentations for my lessons for example, but for that one needs a computer with internet access.
I have a lot of free time at the moment (minus five holidays), so it would be nice to have a project to work on, where I can spend a significant amount of time on.
I don't see this just as a job to be done, but an opportunity to help those people appreciate mathematics and hope to hear from you soon,
Eugen
