Here are the answers 1. $25000/bed for a college dormitory in Pennsylvania, Florida cost %10 cheaper and $25000 x 0.90 = $22500/bed in Florida and for 300 bed 22500 x 300 = $6750000 with 2013 cost to the midpoint 6.750.000/2=$3.375.000 with 2013 cost. İf we start to construction in 2016 with 2 years period 2017 is the midpoint of construction. %2 escalating per year; 3.375.000 x 1,02=3.442.500 with 2014 cost 3.442.500 x 1,02=3.511.350 2015 cost 3.511.350 x 1,02=3.581.577 2016 cost 3.581.577 x 1,02=3.653.209 2017 cost and there is big difference with A/E estimation. 2. A - 2017 is the midpoint of construction B - from 2013 to 2017 we have 4 years escalation C - $25000 x 300 = $7.500.000 in 2013 in Pennyslvania D - $7.500.000 x 0.9 = $6.750.000 in Florida (Melbourne) E- $3.375.000 F- $3.442.500 G - $3.511.350 H - $3.581.577 I - $3.653.209 K - A/E estimation $ 7.500.000 - our estimation 3.653.209 = $3.846.791 difference (3.846.791/3.653.209 ) x 100 = %105,3 more expensive for our estimation 3. We have to advise get another design and estimation. Because A/E cost estimation doubled our estimation and it is unacceptable. We can lose time, but its better than lose money. Regards.
