This is a straight forward project and the final deliverables is just a skeleton project and source code. Need skills in: * Code::Blocks IDE with mingw (32 bit) – You can download and install for free * Windows Firewall * UAC and manifest set to run as Administrator mode * C++ (and BOOST / std) You would need to satisfy the following requirements: 1) For the current program name “myABC” the program should run in administration mode (prompting if necessary). This should be a Windows Executable (not console window). 2) Raise a message box with “Yes” or “No” to the question to add the firewall rules. And if: a. “Yes” then add the Windows Firewall rule to automatically open the port 1234 for the “myABC” program. b. “No” then delete the Windows Firewall rule to open the port 1234 for the “myABC” program. 3) This must work for all versions of Windows where Windows Firewall is supported.

Hi, I have already worked with Code::Blocks IDE , C++ language, and I even did a program that opened/closed ports (used C++ and Phyton to this stuff to build a chat). I know all this knowledge are need to be put all altogether to satisfy what you need in your software but I'm completely sure that this will not be a problem. I'm finishing my graduation at Computer Enginering, but I'm vacation right now, so it's easier to compromise with the work.I expect I can help you with your software. (I'm brazilian so my profile is written in Portuguese, feel free to ask anything about my experience/competence.) EDIT: I worked with doing freelance software before, but I'm searching a good first job to ir here in this site. I would be glad to get this work as my first here, and will work as hard as I can to deliver exactly what you want.

My experience with wxWidgets is low, but should be enough for this project. I was implementing scientific calculator with memo and edit control simulating cli, and also graph drawer. I have Windows 2003, 7 and 10, they should cover required environments. WinAPI is familiar. If MinGW edition of WinAPI is missing something, I can compensate this. Using Delphi and Ada often requires making missing bindings, this is less obvious. Windows XP/2003 firewall don't have an option to enable program/port. They either enable program or port. Don't know about Vista and later.

This is a proposal cum query. I lately added a script to gcc which I was running with MINGW on windows. so I understand what you might be asking me to do but still I am uncertain. Here is what I understand. You want an exception added in the windows network firewall for a program that you run through MINGW console. Is it?
