c# help with a simple binary search

I have a console program already built and just need help understanding and getting this binary search to function. I have the file already written and one version function correctly, but I need someone to simplify it. The binary search is to return a string for finding an element in a json array. Right now I'm trying Array.BinarySearch. This should be pretty easy for an advanced programmer because I may need only a quick explanation. I'm looking for the simplest way of doing this. You can see a bit of what I've been working on in this discussion. :
