Create a map for my game

Greetings. Im looking forward your help I have been asked to create a game on collage. Its quite simple and easy nothing fancy, I faced a problem while creating a map for my game, I already scripted most important code. I wouldn't rather use XNA, more like SharpGL. Take a look on the attached image. I wan't to create something really basic ( probably based on a snake game ? ). I got a monster generator ( name hp etc. ) Todo : attach X.Y spawn on the map < limit could be set + a monster image > Include a character ( image that reacts on the movement Keys. ) Probably there will be only 1 big map. ( would be nice to have a simple tile only for the ground nothing more ) Todo : battlesystem - very simple even on a message box / windowsform popup with no fancy battle step ( only text with the final outcome of the battle - no dodge,block or other modifiers ) Todo : Remove monster on kill ( respawn new one ? ) Todo : as you see the health bars they need to react to battles on lose health it has to refresh ( I don't know how to do it - its quite simple I guess ) That's all for more information message me. I won't exceed 20$ so keep it mind ( do as much as u can ).
