Your major project for the class is to develop a complete business case for an idea or solving a problem. Note that this must be IT related. Preferably this would be a real example from your work environment or if necessary, a fictional example from anywhere you choose. Please note that it is not enough to define sections of the paper - you must include specific detail on your project for each section of the paper. Ensure you review and use the business case template in the Week 1 folder and build a comprehensive argument for moving forward with your idea or solution. You must include the following components in your project. Failure to add these components will mean a significant reduction in your grade. 1. Two elicitation techniques in which you gather requirements/information. This is not an explanation of the technique. You should select two techniques and use them to gather the information you need for your project. For example, this can be a survey of stakeholders or an interview with a key subject matter expert. You must include your detailed survey/questionnaire in your appendix of your paper and include the results and how these results influenced your project in the paper itself. Your research must be included in an appendix and clearly titled Elicitation 1 and Elicitation 2. 2. You must include a research component in the paper. You must include real and relevant background information on at least 1 of the following aspects of your project: the IT solution you've selected, the customer base for the intended solution, how a competitor may have solved the same problem. This research must be clearly identified in the paper and titled Research. 3. You must include two appropriate diagrams in your paper. You may select from the following: functional decomposition, data flow diagrams, use case diagrams, or entity relationship diagrams. Those you select should be relevant to your project. Ensure you follow all diagramming rules when you create your diagram. Copying a picture from the internet will not be accepted. You must develop these diagrams specific to your case. 4. A cost benefit analysis with a breakeven point. See the template in the week 1 folder. This should be clearly titled and added to the paper.
