ART BUSINESS

Introduction:

We have a domestic art business in a particular region of the US. We are currently seeking to expand heavily with an online customer base. We need a sophisticated, user friendly (for both ourselves and our customers), ATTRACTIVE website using the latest, safest payment technology (i.e. paypal).

Front Page (Gallery Page):

Summary:

The Front Page should have the following parts: Left Menu, Top Menu, Recently Sold Art (Under Left Menu), Main Gallery (Center Page), Right Gallery.

Left Menu:

Left Menu should include the following: Browse All Artists (alphabetical order), Browse by Subject (this will be provided at a later point), Browse Art (Random), Browse by Dimensions, Most Popular (Most Visited).

Top Menu:

Each of these should also have drop down sub-menus. This should have About Us (Management), Buyers (Log In, New Buyer), Browse (Same sub-categories as Left Menu), Contact Us.

Recently Sold Art:

This should just be the last 2 items sold (pictures of the art items) underneath the Left Menu.

Main Gallery:

Main gallery should have ALL items as selected by the Owner (how user selects to be discussed later) 3 x 4 (12 per page). User should be able to go to next page and see the next 12 art items, etc. When user clicks on Browse Art (Random), Most Popular, this should be loaded here too.

Right Gallery:

Where new art pieces will show up to the right of the Main Gallery (should be distinct from Main Gallery).

Each Art Piece:

Once user selects the arts piece, User should be able to to go to a page detailing all the important factors leading to a sale of each art piece (i.e. price, subject, description, artist name, etc).

Speed of Browsing:

This should not take too much time to load as we would expect the customer to be able to browse quickly through the art selection.

Art Database:

We would prefer that there should be an easy way to store the new art and that there be a database of all the art. This could be discussed at a later stage.

Bidding:

We would expect the bidders to have examples of their work and references of SOLID projects.

We would like to WORK WITH the web designer awarded this project to design a website to our FULL satisfaction. We expect a lot and as we have not had much interaction with the online community, we have not yet set up any websites. The actual owner of the website is also not tech savvy so we would expect very friendly code so the site could be updated as per the sales turnover.

The costs for setting up the websites as well as the code should be competitive with the market.
