We are Footway and we sell shoes online. We are looking for the best content text and best subject line for our upcoming newsletter.

The object is to write the best content and best subject line for the newsletter. We will choose the 2 top contributions, they’ll be tested against each other in Opening Rate where the highest Opening Rate will win.

You can write about anything you want (part of the contest is to come up with a great content idea) but the content should be related to shoes, fashion or exercise.

We translate our copy so avoid word plays or other "local" writing.

The top contributors will be considered for a long term collaboration with Footway, and have a chance at creating exciting content for many newsletters to come.

Only 1 contribution per freelancer. We will not open or review any more than your first contribution. Any contributions not adhering to our guidelines, will be rejected.

Summary

- Write an exciting subject line with the intent of creating a high opening rate
- Write great body text for the newsletter
- The character limit is a maximum of 45 characters for the subject line (including blank spaces)
- The word limit is 200 words for the body text
- The top 2 contributions will be tested against each other
- The newsletter with the highest opening rate will win
- The winner will get $200
- Avoid word plays and puns
- Remember that we translate the copy

  That is correct. We post several of these contests, because we have to test the top 2 newsletters against each other. And that takes time. First we chose the top newsletters, then we translate the copy, and then we design our newsletters.
  
  After this we need to send them to 4 different markets. And wait one week, and then send the next one. Then wait 2 days and then compare the opening rate to choose a final winner.
  
  If we had to wait for one of these contests to end before we started the next one, we would not have time to do more than one contest.

I'd love to send an entry, but could you please provide an idea about what kind of a newsletter you're looking for, and maybe give a theme?
The reason I'm asking is because a newsletter can carry any form of content.
Would you like a synopsis of your business, or maybe a newsletter informing readers about a seasonal promotion or a new product launch? It could even be a roundup of industry news, or interesting facts/history/trivia about your line of products/services, or even tips and advice.
Would be really helpful if you could give me an idea about what you have in mind so I can send meaningful content. Please feel free to message me.

A reminder to everyone not to be too focused on shoes. Sure, we sell shoes, but the newsletter can be about anything even remotely related to shoes.

Keep that in mind. Not everyt text has to be about shoes.
